Montefiore Einstein
Balazs Halmos, MD is a medical oncologist at Montefiore Einstein and a Professor of Medical Oncology in the Department of Oncology. Dr. Halmos also serves as an Associate Director of Clinical Science at the Montefiore Einstein Comprehensive Cancer Center. His research centers on the use of molecular testing to guide cancer management, the studies of targeted and other agents for the treatment of lung cancer, and translational lung cancer biology such as oncogenic tyrosine kinase signaling and treatment resistance.
Dr. Halmos received his medical degree from Semmelweis University in Budapest, Hungary, and completed an internal medicine residency at St.Luke’s-Roosevelt Hospital/Columbia University, and a hematology-oncology fellowship program at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center/Harvard Medical School. Dr. Halmos also received a master of science in clinical sciences from Harvard Medical School. Dr. Halmos, before his appointment at Montefiore Einstein, served on the faculties at Harvard, Case Western Reserve University, and Columbia.
